GUIDE TA450 Thermal Front Mount

The Guide TA450 is a front-mounted thermal unit that allows you to use your current rifle scope as a thermal sight. This compact unit weighs only 435 grams and attaches to your scope with an adapter ring. It comes with an ocular hood, which allows you to use it as a handheld thermal monocular as well. The device is built to be durable and can withstand up to .338 caliber without a suppressor. At Vanward, we are very impressed with the TA450 and have been using it for two years. Aiming and Positioning

The TA450 is not equipped with a reticle or laser pointer. You attach the TA450 to the front of your rifle scope with the adapter ring and use your scope's reticle to aim directly at the OLED screen. So, you are using your ordinary rifle scope but now with a thermal image.

Color Palettes and Scene Modes

The TA450 has several adjustment options. It has four thermal color palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, and Green Hot. All modes can also be adjusted for contrast to optimize the image.

You can also choose from scene modes: forest, snow, desert, and city. These are preset modes that are optimized for the image you see in different environments. A very useful feature is the unique Hot Track function. It "points out" the object that emits the most heat on the screen with a small cross. This can help you find an animal that is otherwise difficult to detect.

Additional Accessories for Your Rifle Scope

To use the TA450, you need to use an adapter ring to attach the thermal camera to your rifle scope. This is not included and must be purchased separately to choose one that fits your scope. The thermal device is screwed onto the ring, and the tightening clamp then securely attaches it to the rifle scope. It is recommended to use magnifications up to about 5X on the scope, not over this.

By using the ocular hood, you can also use the TA450 handheld and look through it with your eye. This can also be purchased separately. With two CR123A batteries, you can use the device for up to 3.5 hours.
